WITHSTANDING TIME
Conjuring images of Minneapolis' early 1900's thriving milling industry, the former Cream of Wheat™ factory is a testament to those years. Designed by Walter Wheeler shortly after his vision for the Mendota Bridge was realized, the building is a streamlined classical design incorporating brick and Mankato stone. Completed in 1928, the former factory points back to an era where stately details were enthusiastically built into industrial buildings. Used for manufacturing of the popular Cream of Wheat™ cereal, the factory employed generations of Minnesota families until it's close in 2002. Today the building's unique history and features make it a landmark in the Northeast community.
